Welcome

The Solent Shanty Buoys were born when the band lined up for our sailing club’s pre-season bash pulled out. Four friends who enjoy sailing, singing and beer rose to the challenge and developed their unique brand of entertainment: sing songs of the sea, get the audience involved, and above all, have fun.

Since then there have been changes of personnel with 1 departure and 2 additions, so we are now 5. Our repertoire has expanded exponentially Follow us and you will rarely hear the same set twice. We tailor our sets to what you want so you can be sure of a unique experience.

We have played at private houses and gardens, pubs and clubs, churches and masonic halls, arts and beer festivals. We’ve featured at an exclusive London club and regularly at an international shanty festival. There’s been private parties, weddings, christenings and even funerals and wakes. We’ve raised money for our own charities and helped with fundraisers for other charities. We’re available for celebrations, parties, festivals, charity and other events.
